The Stage-D10 is HPI Racing's all-new, purpose-built 1/10th scale rear-wheel-drive drift platform, combining a great Ready-To-Run setup with the huge range of tuning possibilities demanded by today's RC drifters.
Developed from the ground up over three years, the Stage-D10 has been tested across multiple surfaces, by drivers ranging from RWD newcomers to experienced RC drifters. That testing helped us refine the chassis, add new features and develop a factory setup that delivers great all-around performance straight out of the box.
Underneath, there's a serious amount of adjustment waiting to be explored.
And because this is HPI, the first Stage-D10 RTR cars come topped with stunning officially licensed 2024 Ford Mustang RTR Spec-5 FD bodies, complete with authentic Formula Drift liveries, molded scale details, replica wheels and a full LED light system.
New to RWD drifting? The Stage-D10 will give you the confidence to get it on the track and start driving.
Already know your way around a drift chassis? The Stage-D10 has the base for almost any setup you want straight from the box, with no extra parts required. So start adjusting.....
HPI has a long history of producing detailed replicas of some incredible full-size drift cars, and the Stage-D10 release continues that tradition with the Ford Mustang RTR Spec-5 FD.
Each version gets its own authentic livery, with a fully factory-finished and assembled 5-piece polycarbonate body, plus additional molded parts for the mirrors, vents, grilles and light buckets
Each Stage-D10 comes with detailed instructions showing exactly how to set up the body mounting system for the pre-finished Mustang shell, making installation quick and hassle-free. Best of all, no body posts stick through that Mustang shell!
AERO-5 REPLICA WHEELS
The Stage-D10 RTR cars come fitted with RTR Aero-5 replica wheels, colour-matched to each livery and completing the look of the full-size RTR Mustangs.
The front wheels feature a 3mm offset, with 6mm offset rears giving the Mustang its aggressive drift stance. Wrapped around them are HPI's NEW Harder HDPE T-Drift compound tires, developed specifically for the Stage-D10.
At the rear you'll also find removable aerodiscs, another scale detail taken straight from the full-size drift cars. Run them for the full RTR look, or pop them off when you fancy a change.
LIGHT UP THE TRACK
Every Stage-D10 Ford Mustang RTR Spec-5 FD comes with a full LED light system controlled directly from the HPI TF-51 Transmitter.
That means headlights, upper grille intake lights, tail lights and brake lights are all fitted and ready to go.
The CH3 button on the Transmitter gives you 3 modes to choose from: On or Off or Daylight running.
Just like the full-size Mustang, each car gets distinctive grille lighting to match its personality.
Day or night, you're going to know which Mustang is coming towards you.
PURPOSE-BUILT FOR 2WD RWD DRIFTING
The Stage-D10 is a chassis design built specifically for modern RC drifting.
The factory setup gives you a capable starting point without needing to understand every adjustment before your first run. As your driving develops, there's a huge range of setup changes available to fine-tune how the car behaves.
READY TO DRIFT
Adjustable camber links and toe block options combine with multiple front and rear roll centre and camber gain positions. Wheel hex spacing can be increased by 1mm or 2mm, while wishbone placement allows the wheelbase to be adjusted from 246mm to 264mm.
The steering system features fully adjustable Ackermann geometry, with forward, backward, up and down adjustment. There are also four servo mounting positions, giving you even more scope to change the steering setup.
Shorty battery packs can be mounted in mid or rear positions, allowing you to experiment with weight distribution and find the balance that suits your driving.
The Stage-D10 is built to be enjoyed at every level. If you're new to RWD drifting, the factory setup gives you a great place to start. Get some track time, build your confidence and learn what the car can do. Then start experimenting.
Move the battery. Change the gearbox position. Try a different steering setup. Adjust the suspension. Change the wheelbase.
For experienced drifters, all of those options are there from the start.
However you choose to set it up, there's one thing left to do....get sideways!
Rotating Front and Rear disc brakes with a clever twist
Take a closer look behind the RTR Aero-5 wheels and you'll spot another neat scale detail. The Stage-D10 features hex adaptor brake discs front and rear that rotate with the wheels. The scale brake calipers also have adjustment built in for fine-tuning their position depending on your wheel setup, or you can remove them completely!
But there's a clever twist! The brake disc design also forms part
of the wheel hex spacing system, allowing you to adjust the wheel
offset by an additional 1mm or 2mm using simple click-in spacers, making track width changes quick and easy.
FLEXIBLE ESC MOUNTING & REAR DIFFUSER
In the standard Stage-D10 setup, the ESC sits low behind the rear shock tower on the adjustable ESC mounting plate, keeping the electronics neat and the weight low in the chassis. A wiring guide across the top of the shock tower keeps your ESC wiring exactly where it needs to be.
Planning to experiment with a rear motor configuration? The ESC can be moved forward of the rear shock tower and mounted on the rear top plate, freeing up the space needed to explore different motor and gearbox positions.
A diffuser element designed to smooth airflow under the car for improved aero efficiency. An easy-access rear mounting point also opens up plenty of possibilities for future scale detailing options.
OVER 100 MOTOR POSITIONS!
The rear gearbox is where things get really interesting.
The Stage-D10 gives you more than 100 possible motor positions, allowing major changes to the position of the motor and the weight distribution at the rear of the chassis.
The transmission can also be configured with 3 or 4 gears, (Parts included) with the ability to also change the motor direction. Combine the gearbox configurations with all those motor positions and there are more than 200 possible options to experiment with.
The drivetrain uses a 2.6 internal FDR and a sealed composite geared rear differential.
Move it. Change it. Try it.
That's what the Stage-D10 is all about.
STAGE-D10 BRUSHED RTR
The 20T brushed 540 motor and 60A ESC make the standard Stage-D10 a great-value way to get into RWD drifting. The smooth, manageable power delivery is easy to get to grips with, giving new drivers plenty of usable performance without adding unnecessary complexity or cost.
And don't mistake Brushed for basic! There's more than enough power to get the Stage-D10 sideways and start learning the throttle control, transitions and techniques that make RWD drifting so much fun.
NEW D-BOX3 Lite
Steering assistance comes from the D-Box3 Lite drift gyro, with EPA and gain adjustment. Gyro gain can be controlled directly from Channel 4 on the TF-51 transmitter.

A DRIFT CHASSIS BUILT FOR PROGRESSION
The Stage-D10 has been designed to give you a great starting point, without limiting where you can take it next.
As your driving progresses, so can the chassis. Start experimenting with camber, toe, track width and suspension geometry, then dig deeper into battery placement, Ackermann, servo position and the huge range of motor and gearbox configurations.
You can get straight into the setup and start making the Stage-D10 your own, with many of the tuning options built into the standard chassis and no need for a long list of option parts. Unless, of course, you want to!
The Stage-D10 front suspension gives you plenty of control over how the front end reacts through a drift. Adjustable camber links, steering links, multiple roll centre and camber gain positions allow you to fine-tune the geometry, while the threaded oil-filled coilover shocks make ride height and spring preload changes quick and easy. There are Machanical stops included in the spare parts bag if you really want to take to extremes.
Adjustable toe block options give you further control over the front suspension setup, with 1mm or 2mm wheel hex spacing providing a quick way to fine-tune the track width.
FULLY ADJUSTABLE ACKERMANN
Steering setup is a huge part of getting a RWD drift chassis to behave exactly how you want, so the Stage-D10 gives you plenty of room to experiment.
The Ackermann geometry can be adjusted forward and backward, as well as up and down, allowing you to change the steering geometry and tune how the front wheels work together through different steering angles.
FULLY ADJUSTABLE FRONT SUSPENSION
The Stage-D10 front suspension gives you plenty of control over how the front end reacts through a drift. Adjustable camber links, steering links, multiple roll centre and camber gain positions allow you to fine-tune the geometry, while the threaded oil-filled coilover shocks make ride height and spring preload changes quick and easy.
Adjustable toe block options give you further control over the front suspension setup, with 1mm or 2mm wheel hex spacing providing a quick way to fine-tune the track width.
There are also mounting points ready for an optional front sway bar, giving you another tuning option as you dig deeper into the Stage-D10 setup.
TUNE THE REAR FOR YOUR DRIVING STYLE
At the rear, the focus moves to finding the balance and traction that suits your driving style. Adjustable camber links, toe block options and multiple roll centre and camber gain positions give you plenty to work with, backed up by the same threaded oil-filled coilover shocks but with a slight longer +2mm ball link and stiffer spring than the front.
Included with the car are optional pistons and shock ball link lengths for the shocks.
The rear suspension also works around one of the Stage-D10's biggest tuning features. With the gearbox and motor position able to move through a huge range of locations, plus mid or rear battery placement, you can make significant changes to rear weight distribution and then use the suspension geometry to fine-tune the resulting chassis behaviour.
Mounting points for an optional rear sway bar are already built into the chassis, giving experienced tuners another option for controlling rear roll and response.
MAGNETIC BODY MOUNTING
The Stage-D10 uses HPI's new magnetic drift body mounting system. Powerful N52-grade magnets and 10mm steel balls hold the body securely in place without putting mounting holes through the top of the shell.
The 3x10mm N52 magnets are held in a composite surround designed to locate perfectly over the 10mm steel ball. This makes lining up and fitting the body super easy, while giving the magnet extra support for those inevitable barrier bumps and door taps.
Got an older or aftermarket shell with body holes already in place? No worries! We've also included a conical screw-lock system with scale Aerocatch detailing to secure the magnets through existing body holes. Instead of an unwanted hole, you get a neat scale detail inspired by the hardware found on full-size cars.
Both of these systems will be available in a universal magnet mount set!
Prefer traditional body posts, or planning to fit another shell? We've included those too.
The chassis has multiple conventional body mounting positions, with different post options to suit a wide range of bodyshells.
Metal-Shielded Ball Bearings
The Stage-D10 is fully fitted with a set of metal-shielded ball bearings for maximum efficiency. The metal shields keep the dust away from the internals while the smooth precision bearings provides for optimum power delivery from the power source out into the driveline.
